Blend of Seven Winery in Marion, Ohio, produces hand-crafted wines ideal for wine lovers of all types

With so many options available, it can be difficult to choose the right wine. But at Blend of Seven Winery in Marion, Ohio, wine lovers can be sure to find a hand-crafted product created with a love and passion for wine.
“We have been voted Delaware’s Best Winery every year from 2018 to 2025 because we not only make great-tasting wines, but also because we make your visit a memorable experience,” says Sandi Weddington, who owns and operates Blend of Seven Winery with her husband, Steve. “Steve and I both feel it is the consistency of both flavor and quality [that makes us stand out]. In addition, we have some unique blends because we love to get creative and think outside of the ‘rules’ of winemaking/blending wines.”
Sandi and Steve started on their wine making journey back in 2008, when Steve suggested the two of them visit a winery because he knew Sandi loved wine.
“It turned out to be love at first sip! We began seeking out other wineries to visit and fell in love with the atmosphere and people we met. In 2010, I purchased a wine making kit for Steve because he mentioned interest in learning how to make wine. It wasn’t long until we would routinely have three to four carboys going so we could give wine as gifts to friends and family,” she says.
“After doing this for a year or so, I researched what it would take to open our own winery and completed all the necessary paperwork and steps to get our permit. We officially began in November 2011 in a 12×14 room addition onto our home doing private wine tastings. In May of 2013, we found a cozy place to rent on London Road in Delaware with a tasting room and more room to make our wine.”
In 2014, with both Steve and Sandi working at the winery full-time, the two began looking for a larger location, opening at Stratford Road in Delaware in October of 2015.
“Ten years later and ready to start thinking about retirement, we made another leap of faith and moved back home to Marion, Ohio, in May of 2025,” adds Sandi.
The winery currently has more than 40 wines on its list, all of which are made on site. “We make from the juice so have wines from Ohio as well as around the world. When procuring our juices, we look for award winners and have been able to produce consistent results for over 14 years by making [and] producing in small batches,” says Sandi.
Current best sellers include Kimmi-K’s, a Cabernet Sauvignon, sweetened with acai berry and raspberry and hint of chocolate; Rick’s Peach Tree, a blend of two white wines with natural peach flavors; Serenity, a Port wine with tastes of blackberry and black cherries; and Love Spell, a Shiraz sweetened with dragon fruit and raspberry.
In addition to selling wine, Blend of Seven Winery hosts many events, including Sip & Crafts, Canvas & Wine, Wine Blending (a new event in 2026), comedy shows, podcasts, group tasting events and more. The winery also has a bonus room in Marion that can be rented out to groups of 34 to 40 for private parties.
