Also known for its artistic atmosphere, Dublin, Ohio is a great road trip destination to check out with the entire family.

Named after Dublin, Ireland, this spectacular city in Ohio celebrates Irish heritage year-round and was mentioned as one of the top 10 cities to celebrate Irish culture and traditions by Shamrock Craic. “The way we showcase our Irish roots and heritage is with our Irish festival. This occasion is one of the biggest Irish festivals in the world and it is a three-day event in the summertime,” says Katie Thompson, marketing coordinator at Visit Dublin.

Another signature trademark is the North Market. In 1876, the original North Market was established in Downtown Columbus. This 145-year-old market features the finest makers, merchants, and farmers. The second location of the market is in Dublin and is called North Market Bridge Park. Established in 2020, it welcomes in a whole new vibe. Open seven days a week, North Market Bridge Park features several different food cafes like Pit BBQ Grille, Saddleberk and even Bubble Tea + Juice Co.

“It is such a community gathering place. It is set up in a food-court style and we have all different vendors, food and shopping. You catch up with old friends or meet new friends and enjoy the environment that surrounds North Market,” says Thompson.

Nearby, guests can explore the savory tastes of Dublin at Vaso. Located on the top of AC Hotel, Vaso offers a scenic view of Historic Downtown Dublin and the Scioto River that guests can experience inside the restaurant or outside on the rooftop. During the winter, Vaso has created spaces on the rooftop where guests can social distance in private outdoor seating in heated igloos. All igloos can seat up to eight guests and are equipped with a space heater, blankets and special lighting for any occasion.

“Vaso is one of my favorite places in the city and is a great happy hour spot. The views are spectacular and this is a great way to just enjoy the city,” says Thompson.

Vaso features several dietary options ranging from gluten-free and dairy-free to vegetarian and vegan dishes. With a Spanish-style menu, Vaso brings an exceptional taste to the table with dishes like Seared Sea Scallops, Churrasco Filet Steak and Crispy Calamari.
